Jeremy Olander - Megatron - Interstellar Records
Swedish DJ and producer Jeremy Olander has just released his much-anticipated EP, Megatron, via Interstellar Records. This 4-track collection not only marks a significant moment in Olander's career but also features the inaugural release for the Insomniac Music Group imprint with the track “Holmen”. Alongside “Megatron” and “Holmen”, the EP introduces two brand-new tracks, “Fabric” and “Gygax”, solidifying Olander's reputation as a leading figure in the melodic house and techno scene.
The title track, “Megatron”, guides listeners through a mesmerizing journey with understated percussion, sweeping synths, and a progressive bassline. The track gradually builds momentum, leading to a powerful finale that immerses listeners in a trance-inducing groove. “Holmen”, the debut release under the Insomniac imprint, features a jungle-inspired rhythm that evolves into intricate textures of choppy sounds and twinkling synths, culminating in mesmerizing breakdowns adorned with ethereal melodies.
“Fabric” delivers a high-energy electro-house experience, kicking off with a robust bassline and a relentless beat reminiscent of early 2000s electronic dance music. The track is filled with shimmering, expertly textured shakers and buzzing synths, perfectly fitting its title. “Gygax” rounds out the EP, opening with ambient melodies and gradually introducing muffled vocal chants and crisp shakers. This leads into a powerful crescendo with a dynamic interplay of whirring synths and vocal samplings, providing a compelling and energetic finale to the project.
Characteristic of Olander’s production, “Megatron” features grandiose and expansive soundscapes with extended build-ups and emotional climaxes, offering a euphoric journey that transcends conventional electronic genres. Olander shares, “It feels so great to put 'Megatron' and the rest of the EP out with Interstellar. The track is somewhat darker than I usually make, but very thumping and driving and works a charm in almost every set I play.”
