Steven Weston & Braxton, both affiliated with Anjunadeep, have joined forces to present their Lanes EP, a duce of powerful melodic compositions released under Bedrock Records. The EP marks a significant return for the esteemed producer, DJ, and audio engineer Steven Weston to John Digweed's renowned imprint. Additionally, it serves as a debut collaboration between Weston & Braxton, an artist associated with Colorize and SHÉN, following Braxton's earlier remix of Weston's music.
Dropping the first beat on the EP is “Lanes”, a most arresting take on the long-lost art that is progressive breaks. Experiencing a revival of sorts, the genre breaks into higher ground with this hybrid growler. Crafting an extremely detailed groove, the pair effortlessly surf over an earth-quaking low-end while vocal flourishes defy gravity as they linger leaving stunning chemtrails. With “Lanes” in full swing, a technicolor arp effervescently surges anticipating a breakdown that comes as close to rapture as humanly possible. Here, siren calls are chopped as they interlock to the rising arpeggio, creating a gorgeous supernova before blowing up for a dazzling finale that stands in a class of its own
