Aphex Twin celebrates 30 years of 'SAW vol. II' with expanded reissue

Aphex Twin has announced an expanded 30th-anniversary reissue of his seminal album Selected Ambient Works Volume II. This new edition, set to release on October 4th via Warp, will be the first to feature every track from the original album on all formats, including the previously vinyl-exclusive track “#19”.

The reissue will also include two additional tracks: “th1 [evnslower]” and “Rhubarb Orc. 19.53 Rev”. Originally released in 1994 when Richard D. James, aka Aphex Twin, was in his early 20s, Selected Ambient Works Volume II quickly established itself as one of his most influential and recognizable projects, following his debut album Selected Ambient Works 85-92.

The expanded edition will be available in multiple formats, including a four-LP boxset, standard pressing, three-disc CD, two-pack cassette, and digitally. This comprehensive reissue ensures that fans can experience the full scope of the album across their preferred medium.

Aphex Twin returned to live performances in 2023 after a four-year hiatus, headlining London’s Field Day festival. Prior to this, his last performance was a headline show at Printworks. In the same year, he released Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760, his first solo EP in five years.

Fans can listen to the newly included track “#19” from Selected Ambient Works Volume II and pre-order the expanded edition here.
