GESAFFELSTEIN DELIVERS A TASTE OF NEW ALBUM ‘GAMMA’
French artist Gesaffelstein is giving everyone a treat ahead of his upcoming Coachella performance with his third studio album, GAMMA, due in March.
Gesaffelstein, aka “The Dark Prince”, has not only captivated millions worldwide but also influenced plenty of artists along the way. The tracks on his first two albums, Aleph and Hyperion, have all helped shape the electronic soundscapes in techno, midtempo, and more. It’s been half a decade since Gesaffelstein last released a jaw-dropping album, but after all this time, he’s set to satiate his fans’ cravings with the release of GAMMA.
Nearly a year after Skrillex said he heard Gesaffelstein’s new album and confirmed that it was finished, those yearning for more from the beloved French artist will finally get their chance in just over a month. GAMMA is due out on March 29 and will feature 11 tracks that he’s sure to play out during his upcoming appearance at Coachella the following month. His second album, Hyperion, saw him team up with The Weeknd, HAIM, The Hacker, Electric Youth, and Pharrell Williams, but no collaborators have been revealed with the announcement.
While no singles from Gesaffelstein have surfaced with the news of GAMMA, he’s gifted everyone better by unveiling an official album trailer that shows off the gritty, industrial soundscapes that will be found in its runtime. Directed by Jordan Hemingway, the two-minute-long trip into the album marries those sonic elements with unique visuals that will warp your mind.
