THE MINIMOOG BOOK documents history of iconic instrument

The upcoming release of "THE MINIMOOG BOOK" offers an in-depth exploration of the Minimoog synthesizer's profound influence on the landscape of electronic music. Authored by journalist and music historian Joe Silva, this comprehensive book delves into the cultural impact of the Minimoog, featuring behind-the-scenes photographs, interviews with engineers involved in its creation, and conversations with iconic artists like Kraftwerk, Devo, Gary Numan, and Chick Corea.

Kim Bjørn, founder of Bjooks, the publisher behind the book, expressed excitement about shedding light on the Minimoog's history, emphasizing its universal significance across various music genres. The Minimoog is hailed as the first universally embraced synthesizer, having left an indelible mark on popular music.

"We're pulling back the curtain on the history of one of the most iconic electronic instruments ever," said Kim Bjørn. "The Minimoog's significance is undeniable. This instrument was never restricted to just one type of music: it's been used in jazz, rock, pop, experimental, etc. It was the first real, universally adopted synthesizer, and it changed the face of popular music."

Featuring a foreword by Geddy Lee of Rush, "THE MINIMOOG BOOK" promises to unveil more than a decade's worth of meticulous research and storytelling by author Joe Silva. Silva remarked on the instrument's ubiquity in music history, highlighting its importance in shaping the sound of countless artists and iconic tracks.

Readers can anticipate exclusive interviews with legendary musicians such as Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, and Bernie Worrell, alongside insights from contemporary artists like Mac DeMarco and Greg Kurstin. The book also boasts stunning photography, schematics, historical materials, and illustrated sound patches, making it a must-have for synthesizer enthusiasts.

You can get on the Earlybird list for the Kickstarter launch here.
