CLUBS & ASLICE LAUNCH NEW REVENUE-SHARING INITIATIVE

A groundbreaking initiative, Support The Sound, has been unveiled today, March 12th, by a consortium of nine prominent club brands, including Basement, Bassiani, Dekmantel, and Fuse, among others.

At its core, Support The Sound is dedicated to fostering fair compensation practices within the electronic music ecosystem, championing a sustainable future for the industry. The initiative is underpinned by Aslice, the revolutionary platform designed to bridge the wage gap between DJs and producers through comprehensive tracklist reporting.

Driven by the vision of clubs like New York's BASEMENT and Tbilisi's Bassiani, Support The Sound represents a collaborative effort to redefine the booking landscape. Members are committed to advocating for Aslice's principles, promoting its benefits to booking agents and DJs alike. Moreover, resident DJs are encouraged to embrace transparency by submitting their playlists.

A pivotal aspect of Support The Sound's mission is to ensure equitable compensation for music producers, whose contributions are often undervalued in the industry. As articulated in the founding statement, "Without producers, our dance floors would be silent." The initiative recognizes the indispensable role played by producers and seeks to rectify the systemic undervaluation they face.

Looking ahead, Support The Sound aims to catalyze tangible change by requiring all DJs to share revenue with the producers whose tracks they feature in their sets by 2025. This forward-thinking approach underscores the initiative's commitment to fostering a more inclusive and sustainable electronic music landscape.
