HYPERDUB & BEGGARS MUSIC FORGE NEW PARTNERSHIP

Avant-garde UK electronic music label Hyperdub has forged an exciting partnership with Beggars Music, a prominent publishing company, as reported by MusicWeek.

Under this collaboration, Beggars Music assumes the administration of Hyperdub's esteemed catalogue, a treasure trove encompassing the works of iconic artists such as Burial, Jessy Lanza, Lee Gamble, Okzharp, and label head Kode9, among others. Additionally, Beggars Music will lend its expertise to Hyperdub in scouting and nurturing new talent, further enriching the label's creative landscape.

Molly O'Brien, Head of Creative at Beggars Music, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, citing Hyperdub's status as one of the most influential labels in electronic music history. She highlighted the alignment in both entities' commitment to fostering unique and groundbreaking talent, foreseeing a harmonious integration of Hyperdub's writers into Beggars Music's esteemed roster.

We feel a kinship in their approach to nurturing truly unique and groundbreaking talent and feel that the Hyperdub writers will compliment the Beggars Music roster perfectly, while occupying a distinct space,” said O'Brien.

Kris Jones, representing Hyperdub Publishing, echoed this sentiment, expressing excitement about leveraging the partnership to propel existing writers into new creative realms while also embracing fresh talent to expand the label's artistic horizons.

With Hyperdub commemorating its 20th anniversary in 2024, this partnership with Beggars Music marks a significant milestone in its illustrious journey. As Hyperdub prepares for the release of Heavee's highly anticipated album Unleash on March 15th, celebrations continue with an anniversary party at London's legendary fabric club, featuring performances by Kode9, Jessy Lanza, León Vynehall, and more.

The announcement also coincides with the recent release of Burial's Dreamfear / Boy Sent From Above 12" on XL Recordings.

Beggars Music, the publishing division of Beggars Group, boasts an impressive roster of imprints including 4AD, Matador Records, True Panther, and Remote Control. Within its own catalogue reside a diverse array of artists such as Obongjayar, Lankum, Glass Animals, and Mica Levi, among others.
