Jamie xx unveils new details from upcoming studio album

Jamie xx has revealed new details about his highly anticipated second album, In Waves, set to be released on September 20th under the Young label. This new project comes nine years after his debut album In Colour and promises a rich array of collaborations and fresh sounds.

The London-born artist has given fans a taste of what's to come with the release of the single “Treat Each Other Right”, which will be featured on the album alongside April's Honey Dijon collaboration “Baddy On The Floor” and other recent singles.

The 12-track album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Robyn, The Avalanches, Kelsey Lu, John Glacier, Panda Bear, Oona Doherty, and his The xx bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim.

Jamie xx has been sharing snippets from In Waves during his London residency at The Floor, where he played for ten consecutive nights at Venue MOT. The residency featured special appearances from artists such as Charli XCX, MJ Cole, Daphni, Nick Léon, and Jockstrap, adding to the excitement surrounding the new album.

Reflecting on the upcoming release, Jamie xx shared his thoughts: “My new album, 'In Waves', will be out on September 20th. I am so unbelievably happy. It’s been a while… and a lot has happened in that time. Ups and downs, growing up, figuring stuff out and then forgetting it all many times over. Life-changing events and world-changing events. These waves that we have all experienced together and alone.”

He continued, “I wanted to make something fun, joyful and introspective all at once. The best moments on a dance floor are usually that for me.”

In Waves will be available in digital format, as well as on CD and vinyl. A deluxe LP edition will include bonus tracks “It’s So Good”, “KILL DEM” and “LET’S DO IT AGAIN”, plus two exclusive new tracks “Do Something” and “F U” featuring Erykah Badu.
