MARIBOU STATE GOES ON HIATUS DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES

Maribou State has announced that they are "pressing pause" on their joint project due to ongoing health issues faced by Chris Davids, one half of the duo. In an Instagram post, they revealed that all forthcoming shows have been canceled, and the release of their next album has been postponed.

Chris Davids explained that he was diagnosed with a rare brain condition called Chiari malformation in 2022, which caused symptoms such as debilitating headaches, insomnia, and mental health challenges. These symptoms affected both his personal life and productivity in the studio while working on their third album over the past few years.

After undergoing brain surgery in November 2023, which was mostly successful, Chris faced complications that slowed down his recovery and presented new challenges that are still ongoing. As a result, the duo made the difficult decision to temporarily pause their project while Chris focuses on his recovery.

This decision includes canceling all forthcoming shows, as Chris expressed that he is currently unable to give the love and energy required for live performances. They acknowledged that this news may disappoint fans who have been patiently waiting for new music and have purchased tickets to their shows.

Maribou State last shared new music in July 2023 with the release of "Blackoak," their first new music in three years.
