Moog introduces its latest flagship synthesizer, Muse
Moog has unveiled its latest flagship synthesizer, the Muse, an eight-voice polyphonic analog synth. The Muse made its first appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show in February and has been eagerly anticipated ever since. After five years of development at Moog's headquarters in Asheville, North Carolina, the Muse is now ready for both studio and live performance applications.
Muse is a full-size, 61-key synthesizer that combines classic analog features with modern innovations. It boasts eight fully analog voices, each equipped with two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), a modulation VCO per voice, dual voltage-controlled filters (VCFs), and a stereo voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA). The oscillators draw inspiration from the renowned Minimoog Voyager synth, and Muse includes a saturating mixer for enhanced harmonics, Moog ladder filters, and VCAs influenced by Moog Modular circuits. Additionally, the synth supports bi-timbral patches, allowing users to stack or split two sounds across the keyboard.
The Muse also incorporates advanced features such as a 64-step sequencer with sequence chaining and parameter recording, an arpeggiator, and chord memory function, enabling musicians to create complex ideas, riffs, and loops directly on the unit.
Retailing at $3,499, the Moog Muse is available now. For a demonstration, you can watch the video below or visit the Moog website for a detailed specification overview.
