OVERMONO share new single, ‘Gem Lingo (ovr now)’
Yesterday (July 17th), Overmono released their new single “Gem Lingo (ovr now)” on XL Recordings. The track was first teased earlier this year during their takeover of The Lot Radio, where they performed alongside Fred again.. and Lil Yachty, with whom they also collaborated on the recent single “Stayinit”.
“Gem Lingo” features the soulful vocal hook of South London-based singer-songwriter and Paul Institute founder Ruthven. The garage-influenced track has been highly anticipated, with YouTube and SoundCloud rips amassing over 300,000 plays since its initial play. The official debut of the track was on BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record with Jack Saunders yesterday.
This single follows Overmono's acclaimed remix of The Streets' 2002 track “Turn the Page”, which was also released via XL Recordings in April this year.
Fans can look forward to hearing “Gem Lingo” during Overmono's upcoming performances at festivals such as Reading and Leeds, Boardmasters, Kalorama in Spain and Portugal, and Flow Festival in Finland. The duo is also set to perform their biggest headline dates yet, with sold-out shows in London, Manchester, Toronto, and Bristol, as well as upcoming performances in New York, Osaka, and Tokyo.
