Scuba unveils new single & live show dates
Paul Rose, known by his stage name Scuba, has announced D:U:LIVE, a series of live shows inspired by his acclaimed Digital Underground mixtape and Hardcore Heaven vinyl EPs from last year. These releases served to bridge the gap between acid house, early hardcore, breaks, and techno. While worldwide dates are yet to be announced for later in 2024, the new concept will kick off in the UK in early summer.
The eagerly anticipated live performances will take place in London at Peckham Audio on June 12, in Bristol at The Love Inn on June 13, and in Manchester on June 14. These shows mark Scuba's return to live performances after an 11-year hiatus, following a string of PAs in 2013 that earned him the title of “Best Live Act” at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards.
In addition to the live shows, Scuba has also released a new single titled “Truth”. This track serves as the first preview of his upcoming Hardcore Heaven III EP, scheduled for release on June 14. “Truth” builds upon the themes established in the Digital Underground mixtape, blending elements of classic hardcore, acid house, and early jungle.
"I'm really excited for the chance to put this music where it belongs, that is to say on a big rig in a dark room. It's been such a long time since I played live, and this is a very different kind of show to the last one. It should be a lot of fun." says Scuba.
