Tycho announces new album, shares first single & video

GRAMMY-nominated artist Tycho has announced his sixth studio album, Infinite Health, set for release on August 30th, 2024. Alongside this announcement, Tycho has shared the debut single and video, “Phantom”, now available for streaming.

The album, crafted by renowned San Francisco-based songwriter, musician, and producer Scott Hansen, was co-produced with Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear and Tycho’s guitarist Zac Brown. The lead single, “Phantom”, comes with a visually stunning video produced in collaboration with Ricardo B. Ponce, also known as Pixel Flux.

Infinite Health marks a return to Tycho’s electronic roots, emphasizing breaks, drums, and rhythmic elements that guide the rest of the instrumentation.

Hansen describes “Phantom” as a blend of nightclub lights and a mysterious entity, exploring the nuances of existence and our confrontation with mortality. The track features a bassline played on a Juno emulator, adding a fresh dimension to Tycho’s sound.

Following his previous albums, Simulcast (2020) and Weather (2019), Hansen views Infinite Health as a new chapter for Tycho. The album, while retaining the collaborative efforts of Zac Brown and Rory O’Connor, delves into themes of hope, reflection, and holistic healing. It serves as both a homage to the past and a celebration of the future, encapsulating the full spectrum of health—spiritual, emotional, and physical.
