fabric announces British Museum takeover

fabric will stage its next site-specific intervention in one of London’s most iconic institutions: the British Museum. On May 2, the Farringdon club will present a rare two-hour evening programme across three rooms of the Bloomsbury landmark, marking 168 years of the Reading Room.

The free event will explore the ambient and experimental edges of electronic music, with a live performance by UK acid house pioneer A Guy Called Gerald, a set from long-standing fabric resident Anna Wall, and the first-ever London appearance of NIGHT manoeuvres, a new collaborative project from ABSOLUTE and London Grammar’s Dot Major.

Running from 18:30 to 20:30, the event is part of the museum’s broader effort to activate its spaces through contemporary art and music, and continues fabric’s recent pattern of staging one-off performances in culturally significant locations. Past editions have included Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the rooftop of The Shard.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Sign up for tickets here.
