The Cure set to release expansive remix album ‘Mixes of a Lost World’
The Cure have unveiled details of Mixes of a Lost World, a 24-track reimagining of their 2024 album Songs of a Lost World. Curated by Robert Smith, the remix compilation features contributions from a striking cross-section of electronic, experimental, and alternative artists, and arrives June 13 via Fiction Records.
What began as a trickle of unsolicited remixes—sent to Smith following the band’s long-awaited return—soon snowballed into a full-fledged project. “There was something refreshing in hearing how others interpreted the record,” Smith said. “It reminded me how malleable these songs really are.”
Contributors span generations and scenes: Four Tet, Paul Oakenfold, Trentemøller, Orbital, Mogwai, Daniel Avery, Mura Masa, and Chino Moreno of Deftones all appear across three reinterpretations of each of the album’s eight original tracks. Four Tet’s kaleidoscopic rework of “Alone” and Oakenfold’s sweeping, cinematic take on “I Can Never Say Goodbye” have been released ahead of the album as lead singles.
In a move true to the band’s ethos, all proceeds from Mixes of a Lost World will benefit War Child UK, aiding children affected by armed conflict.
The record will be released across digital formats and multiple physical editions, including 2LP, 3LP, 2CD and expanded 3CD pressings.
