Orbital & Tilda Swinton share 'Deepest' rework

Orbital have revived their 1989 classic “Deeper” with a striking new rework featuring Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton, via London Records.

Titled “Deepest”, the reimagined version trades the original’s rave-era pulse for something more meditative—anchored by Swinton’s unmistakable voice delivering poetic, spoken-word instructions over acid-laced synth textures. First premiered live during Orbital’s Park Stage set at Glastonbury 2024, the collaboration saw Swinton join brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll on stage, all donning the duo’s trademark head-torches as she read from a page to a captivated crowd.

The single appears as part of a reissue of Radiccio, Orbital’s 1992 EP that originally housed “Deeper” as its lead track. The new release arrives ahead of a full-scale reissue of Orbital 2 (widely known as “The Brown Album”), which returns to shelves on May 23rd in vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital formats—marking its first official repress in over a decade.
