Released in July as a standalone single, and recently included in Perel’s collaborative Entertain Us EP with Mano Le Tough for fabric Records’ new series, “Future Memories”, which pairs together a legendary producer with new talent to create groundbreaking music that bridges generations, her “Homage (Club Mix)” is a gripping take on breaks, fueled by her connection to a special someone.

Rolling off in the blink of an eye, “Homage (Club Mix)” finds the German alchemist deep in a broken frame that unfurls with unmatched swagger before gilding synths overlay a sense of sultry nostalgia across the sonic vignette. Suddenly, Annegret Fiedler’s daydream-ish vocals emerge as they call to us from yesterday’s abyss, offsetting a galloping bassline that shifts “Homage” up a gear, wandering into the ethereal blend of new wave that her creator has made her own.

In an exquisite balancing act, Perel juxtaposes emotions across the thin veil of the night, fiddling between light and darkness with the same entrancing allure evoked by a coin that runs effortlessly through suave fingers. Closing its bind on us, Perel unleashes a dazzling gated vocal line that takes us to the core of “Homage”, a clear-cut breakdown where the sentiment becomes palpable, emerging out of the canvas for us to feel.
