ACTRESS TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM, ‘STATIK’

Darren Cunningham, best known as the electronic producer Actress, has announced his upcoming album Statik, slated for release on July 7 via Smalltown Supersound. This marks his first full-length collaboration with the Oslo-based label.

The announcement came alongside the unveiling of two singles from the album, "Dolphin Spray" and "Static," each offering distinct glimpses into Actress's multifaceted sound. "Dolphin Spray" delivers a buoyant energy with driving rhythms and shimmering synth arpeggios, while "Static" delves into a more introspective and ambient realm.

Statik promises to be another enigmatic offering from Actress, characterized by a sense of freedom and stillness, with Cunningham exploring celestial and expansive sonic landscapes. Written primarily in an extensive flow state, the album aims to provide a transcendental experience, guiding listeners through nocturnal cityscapes and mythical realms.

This upcoming release will mark Actress's 10th studio album, following the success of LXXXVIII, which debuted in November of last year on Ninja Tune Records.
