AIR to livestream 'Moon Safari' performance at Royal Albert Hall
Air is set to perform their seminal debut album, Moon Safari, in its entirety at London's Royal Albert Hall on Thursday, May 30th, and Friday, May 31st. This performance marks a significant milestone, celebrating 25 years since the album's initial release in 1998.
The band has partnered with DRIIFT, a live streaming service, to broadcast the second night’s show digitally. The live stream will begin at 9 PM BST on May 31st, with two additional rebroadcasts at 9 PM EST and 9 PM PST the same day. Following these live broadcasts, the performance will be available on demand from 7 AM on Saturday, June 1st until 7 AM on Tuesday, June 4th.
Moon Safari is widely regarded as one of the definitive electronic albums of the pre-millennium era. It was Air's debut LP and has remained their most critically acclaimed and commercially successful record. The live performance of the album in full, for the first time, was announced late last year, with shows already taking place in Geneva, Paris, and Amsterdam.
In addition to the live performances, deluxe versions of Moon Safari were released in March. These include a double-CD and Blu-ray audio package, and a new Spatial Dolby Atmos edition featuring previously unreleased tracks. Also included in the deluxe package is Mike Mills' 1998 documentary, Eating Sleeping, Waiting & Playing, which follows the band on their first world tour.
This live stream offers a unique opportunity for fans around the world to experience Moon Safari performed live in one of London's most prestigious venues, ensuring the celebration of this classic album reaches a global audience.
