Elektron introduces new Digitakt II sampler & sequencer

Renowned Swedish hardware manufacturer Elektron has unveiled the highly anticipated Digitakt II, the successor to its immensely popular Digitakt sampler.

Building upon the success of its predecessor, which quickly became one of Elektron's best-selling products, the Digitakt II introduces several enhancements and new features. One of the most significant upgrades is the expanded sample memory, now boasting 400MB of RAM and a substantial 20GB of internal sample memory, a substantial increase from the original 1GB. Additionally, the Digitakt II now supports stereo samples, offering increased versatility in sound manipulation.

In terms of functionality, the Digitakt II offers double the number of audio tracks, featuring 16 tracks instead of eight, and allows for up to 128 steps per pattern. The device also introduces five SRC “machines,” including Oneshot, Werp, Repitch, Stretch, and a new Grid machine, enabling users to edit sounds at a micro-sample level. Furthermore, users can choose from five filter modes: Multi-Mode, Low pass 4, Equaliser, Comb, and Legacy LP/HP.

While maintaining its reputation for exceptional sound quality, creative features, and intuitive layout, the Digitakt II represents a significant evolution in Elektron's product lineup. However, with these advancements comes a slight increase in price, with the Digitakt II retailing at $999, compared to its predecessor's $849 price tag.
