Jamie xx to host 10-day residency, ‘The Floor’

Jamie xx is set to embark on an exciting new venture with the announcement of his upcoming residency, The Floor. Taking place at London's Venue MOT, the residency will span 10 nights from May 16 to 25, promising a unique and immersive club experience.

Described as a "bespoke 10-night London club residency," The Floor will see Jamie xx collaborating with the team behind Venue MOT to create a completely new space. The residency aims to capture the essence of London's underground club scene, focusing on intimacy, community, curation, and sound.

Expressing his excitement for the project, Jamie xx stated, "For years I’ve been dreaming of opening my own club in London. A place that represents my experiences in the best of London’s underground club scene; the intimacy, the community, the curation, the sound… This month, I get to make that dream a reality.”

Each night of the residency will feature Jamie xx alongside a carefully curated lineup of friends, collaborators, and Venue MOT regulars. The specific lineup for each night will be kept under wraps until the doors open, adding an element of anticipation to the experience.

The announcement of The Floor residency comes on the heels of Jamie xx's recent musical endeavors, including the release of two singles this year. The first single, “It’s So Good,” dropped in January, marking his first release since 2021's “KILL DEM.” The second single, a collaboration with Honey Dijon titled “Baddy On The Floor,” made its debut last month and has been eagerly anticipated by fans since Jamie teased it during his set at All Points East in 2021.

Furthermore, Jamie xx has been wrapping up his long-awaited second album, applying the final touches to the project. The album has been previewed at various live shows and on BBC Radio 1’s New Music show with Jack Saunders, building anticipation among fans for its release.
