Positiva relaunches for 30th-anniversary celebrations

Positiva Records, the iconic UK dance music label under the EMI umbrella, has announced an ambitious relaunch strategy as it marks its 30th anniversary. The label plans to emphasize "forward-thinking sounds from an irresistible mix of rising talents and established legends," reaffirming its longstanding commitment to shaping the electronic music landscape.

Established in 1993, Positiva Records has been a driving force in the industry, contributing significantly to various genres including house, techno, trance, garage, and drum and bass. Over the past three decades, the label has been home to numerous classic tracks from renowned artists such as Barbara Tucker, Spiller, and Ferry Corsten, cementing its reputation as a cornerstone of dance music culture.

The anniversary relaunch brings with it an exciting lineup of new music slated for release throughout the year. Notable collaborations and remixes include a fresh take on The Chemical Brothers' classic hit "Hey Boy, Hey Girl" by Ukrainian electronic duo ARTBAT, and a partnership between Special Request and Jamie Jones. Emerging artists are also in the spotlight, with releases planned from Storm Mollison and Crybaby, as well as a joint effort between Alex Wann and Route 94. Solo projects feature prominently too, featuring works from Sub Focus, Gorgon City, Paige Cavell, and newly signed artist K Motionz, among others.

In addition to musical releases, Positiva is expanding its brand through a new range of products and merchandise. The collection, designed by creative agency Hot Cake, will include vinyl records, clothing, and accessories, offering fans tangible ways to celebrate and engage with the label's rich legacy.

EMI, Positiva's parent label, is also broadening its dance music endeavors. Recent initiatives include collaboration with SG Lewis on his newly launched Forever Days label and continued work with Duke Dumont, who has recently released the comeback single "Ain’t Giving Up" featuring Clementine Douglas.
