Empire of the Sun share ‘Ask That God (Remixes)’ collection
Empire of the Sun have unveiled Ask That God (Remixes), a six-track rework collection that sees their signature dream-pop sound reimagined for the club by a heavyweight cast of electronic artists. Out now via EMI Australia and Capitol Records, the release breathes new life into standout tracks from their recent Ask That God LP.
Among the highlights is Solomun’s reimagining of “Television”, which stretches the original’s cosmic feel into a dark, slow-burning odyssey of analog synths and rolling percussion. DJ Tennis and Adam Ten deliver two of the package’s most club-focused interpretations, with Ten’s rework of “Music On The Radio” bringing gritty warehouse textures to the fore.
Vintage Culture ramps up the euphoria on “Cherry Blossom”, pairing Empire of the Sun’s vocal theatrics with a deep and soaring progressive groove. LP Giobbi reshapes “Happy Like You” with a melodic-house sheen, while LA duo TELYKAST close out the release with a big-room-ready remix of “AEIOU”.
The remix EP offers a wide-angle lens on Empire of the Sun’s latest creative era, bridging their psychedelic-pop universe with dancefloor traditions from Berlin to São Paulo.
